Jeffrey Experiences Success within a Group

A heartfelt THANK YOU for your support of Ramapo for Children’s Summer Scholarship Appeal! For more than 90 years, Ramapo has been providing children with social, emotional and learning challenges with the tools they need to form healthy friendships, develop self-confidence and experience success.

Traditionally, Jeffrey had trouble being around large crowds and loud noise because of his hyperactive behavior and hypersensitivity to sound. During his three weeks at Camp Ramapo, Jeffrey was surrounded by kids with challenges similar to his. Through a structured schedule and the support of his counselors and bunkmates, he quickly became comfortable enough to join the activities. He learned how to manage large group settings like mealtimes in the dining hall, where he sat comfortably and ate with his friends–something his mother never imagined could happen.

Summer camp at Ramapo is an opportunity that many children from disadvantaged homes would not be able to experience without the support of people like you. Your contribution provides these children with a summer of laughter, learning and fun. On behalf of all the children we serve, thank you!
